Gerard Piqué continues with his pharaonic investment in Andorra, a team that he has presided over since the end of 2018. The Barcelona defender announced the signing of Ricard Pruna as a medical advisor after resigning from his position as head of Barça’s medical services last summer due to discrepancies with the Bartomeu board.
This signing joins that of Eder Sarabia, former Barça second coach at the time of Quique Setién, to reconfigure a team that yearns to ascend to the Second Division this season. Andorra is second in Group 3B, chaining two games without winning, although they hope to turn the tables.
Pruna admitted in her presentation that «I am very excited to join this project. There is a very young team behind, with a lot of potential and ambition, and I hope to bring all my experience to manage and professionalize the club’s medical services in the best possible way.
The doctor, who maintains a great friendship with players trained at La Masía such as Xavi Hernández or Gerard Piqué, was described by them as “the guardian angel”. With more than 25 years of experience in the sector, Pruna stands out for being an expert in trauma. Now at Andorra he hopes to do his bit to take Piqué’s team to the next level.
