Pesticides disrupt bees’ sleep, study finds

Two new studies found that some pesticides appear to affect the hours of sleep of bees and flies. In the first, the researchers gave bumblebees nectar mixed with neonicotinoids, in an amount similar to what they would find in nature, and the impact was severe. In the second, they found that these pesticides disturb sleep and confuse flies.
