Peru on Friday received an important donation from China of personal protection equipment to reinforce the fight against Covid-19 in the country, reported the Ministry of Health (Minsa).
« The Minsa received an important donation of 170 oxygen concentrators, 1,200 oximeters and more than 290,000 personal protective equipment, by the People’s Republic of China to strengthen the care of patients affected by the Covid-19« the wallet wrote on his Twitter account.
During the delivery ceremony, the Minister of Health, Pilar Mazzetti, highlighted the importance of the donation for the containment of the pandemic and for the future, according to the official newspaper El Peruano.
« These oxygen concentrators will enhance the first level of health care and, once the pandemic is over, they will allow to have a reinforced level of health, where oxygen is a vital element, » he said.
Mazzetti highlighted the level of relations with China and said that the Asian country has made successive donations to Peru, since the pandemic began, for almost 7 million dollars.
Until Thursday, Peru had 1,082,907 infections since the start of the pandemic and 39,274 deaths.
