PAC-MAN is one of the icons of videogames and its place in history is assured 40 years after it made its debut with a proposal that enchanted the young people of that generation and that helped to warn that a change in the ways of entertainment was yet to come. Of course, that doesn’t mean that the lovable ghost-eater can’t be recognized over and over again and this time he’ll be honored by the Comic-Con organizers.

Through a statement, those responsible for the Comic-Con Museum, an initiative arising from the successful comics event that takes place year after year, reported that their Hall of Fame of the Characters will have a new member and it is nothing more and nothing less PAC-MAN, who will be inducted on December 17 as part of the 40th anniversary of his arrival in the world of videogames. According to the information, PAC-MAN, who will be the second inducted into this Hall of Fame after being chosen last year was Batman, will be honored for the long career he has had in video games and the influence he has marked in the industry over 4 decades.

On this induction, Eddie Ibrahim, Director of Programming for the Comic-Con Museum, noted: “We thought PAC-MAN would be the perfect addition to the Character Hall of Fame because it inspires a sense of nostalgia in so many of us and “Although he’s turning 40, he’s still very relevant in pop culture today. Characters tell the stories of pop culture and what better time, when we’re more digital than ever, to honor our first digital persona.”

The PAC-MAN induction ceremony will take place on December 17 starting at 6:00 PM, Mexico City time, and you can follow it on the official site of the Comic-Con Museum.
