The battle for the fastest fast charge continues. As of today, the record on a commercial mobile is held by OPPO’s 65VO SuperVOOC 2.0, which debuted at the OPPO Reno Ace last year, although Xiaomi has long been working on charging 100W. Those 100W don’t sound like much when we know today that both OPPO and IQOO are going to present in the coming days its fast charges to more than 120W.

On the one hand we have OPPO, which has Ready fast charging at 125W, but of which we will not know all the details until July 15. On the other hand, IQOO, which joins the party after Vivo made its own with the 120W Super FlashCharge charge, announcing a similar system for its gaming brand.

OPPO, for the record with 125W

Remember that BBK Electronics is the matrix that encompasses the brands of OPPO, Realme, Vivo, OnePlus and iQOO. The fast charge remains at home, although it is the OPPO sub-brand that seems to record the point of the fastest fast charge for Android mobiles: 125W.

The difference will not be much, just 5WVivo introduced the Super FlashCharge 120W fast charge, capable of charging a 4,000 mAh battery in 13 minutes, last year. It is true that, since then, no Vivo mobile has incorporated it, so it remains a theoretical novelty.

We don’t know if there will be any major technology changes from other ultrafast charges as OPPO plans to unveil all the details at an event next time. July 15, at 15:00 local time, at 9:00 in Spain.

IQOO is satisfied with « only » 120W

For its part, IQOO, the sub-brand of Vivo most focused on gaming devices, has announced its own fast charge at 120W. The result is the same, but internally the operation is slightly different from Vivo’s namesake 120W load.

This technology takes 120W of input (20V 6A) and splits it into two fast charge channels at 60W (20V 3A) to reduce overheating by using such a fast charge. By joining these two charging channels, we have the result of a 120W output (10V 12A).

Accompanying the fast charge, an intelligent temperature control is integrated into the charger. The result is the full charge of a 4,000 mAh battery in 15 minutes and capable of filling it 50% in 5 minutes. The first terminal with this fast charge will arrive in August.
