As announced, Oneplus introduced a new line of Smart TVs at a reduced price and modest specs. With a focus on the Indian community – where the brand has a great presence – the new televisions are an alternative to the QLED 4K launched in 2019. In exchange, they are offered 32, 43 and 55 inch variants, two of them with HD resolution.

The OnePlus TV U1 series, which has a 55-inch panel with 4K resolution (3280 x 2160px), HDR10 +, HLG and Dolby Vision support. This television offers 93% DCI-P3 color space, something OnePlus defines as Cinematic Display.

The panel has a thickness of 6.9 mm and a screen that occupies 95% of the body with metallic bib. OnePlus put special interest in the speakers, which offer Dolby Atmos support and they are positioned at a 90 degree angle.

Generally speaking, this television is similar to OnePlus TV Q1 and Q1 Pro. They share many specifications and integrate the Oxygen Play peronalization layer based on Android TV that seeks to offer a software experience similar to what we see on smartphones.

Other software options include a children’s mode and one more to avoid blue light, similar to what we find in computer monitors. A data saving option appears among the menu that comes in handy for those looking to take advantage of all the functionalities of the Smart TV.

OnePlus Y Series: the cheap Smart TVs

Accompanying the U series they arrive two 32-inch and 43-inch displays. These are the manufacturer’s cheap models and are located in the Y series. Both include the cinematic screen with DCI-P3 at 93% of its older brother, although at a unappealing resolution: Full HD for the 43-inch and HD for the 32-inch variant.

It also integrates two 10W speakers with support for Dolby sound, Android TV, Oxygen Play, Google Assistant, Google Play and Chromecast integration.

Price and availability of the new OnePlus TV

The prices of the new OnePlus televisions at the current exchange rate are:

OnePlus TV U series 55 inches (4K): 595 euros OnePlus TV AND series 43 inches (Full HD): 274 euros OnePlus TV AND series 32 inches (HD): 154 euros

At the moment these models will only be available in India starting July 5. Some users criticized the decision not to integrate a 4K panel into the 43-inch model, something that the competition offers for that price.
