OM sinks into the crisis

Beaten by Nîmes last weekend, OM sank into the crisis by losing again to Lens on Wednesday at the Vélodrome.

Not long ago, OM was in an enviable position in the league, virtual leader even on condition of winning his two late matches against Lens and Nice. In recent weeks, however, the Olympian machine has stalled: the Marseillais have lost four of their last seven outings in Ligue 1 and have thus seen their beautiful certainties and ambitions fly away.

This Wednesday to catch up with the 9th trick against the Blood and Gold, the men of André Villas-Boas were greeted by hostile banners in an empty stadium. “You make us ashamed”; “You are disgusting” and other messages which obviously did not help the Phocéens to sublimate. Put in place by their coach and their president, Jacques-Henri Eyraud, the day after their Nîmes shipwreck, the Thauvin and others have sunk even more.

Thauvin and Payet absent

The latter did not exist in the game – Payet, he started on the bench and did not bring more to his entry on the hour mark – so as often this season, it is the third historic frame, Mandanda, who held the house for a long time. 59 minutes exactly. While Lens had more than 70% possession of the ball at the start of the second act, it was at this precise moment that Banza has arisen to cut off a center ofHaidara and thus offer victory to his family (0-1, 59th).

Without any reaction, despite the new blood injected by AVB, Marseille suffered again later – the baraka of Mandanda or a certain artesian clumsiness in the ultimate gesture having finally spared OM a more scathing setback. Whatever, the Olympian series at this time is of the most concern. Sixth in Ligue 1, the Phocéens certainly still have one game less on the clock but are already left behind by the PSG-Losc tandem, perched 10 lengths.
