O2 restricts access to its cheapest mobile and fiber combo, bringing back fiber-only offering

Telefónica, as incumbent operator, has regulated the retail prices of both Movistar and O2, which sometimes causes the operator to perform your bid adjustments based on where you live and if it is a city considered by the CNMC as competitive or not.

This is how O2 was born, with rates whose price varied depending on the municipality in which you are residing. Over time, these restrictions were disappearing in exchange for a higher price for everyone, but now O2 will return to differentiate conditions according to where you want to have the fiber installed.

Fiber for all for 38 euros, with a gift mobile for some

With this change in conditions, the combination of fiber at 300 Mbps and mobile with 10 GB for 38 euros will no longer be available for new hires outside the 66 regulated cities. In return, O2 recovers its offer of only fiber at 300 Mbps for 38 euros, which will be available regardless of where you live, as long as there is fiber coverage.

The cities where the cheapest O2 fiber will continue to include a mobile line with 10 GB at no additional cost They are: Albacete; Alboraya; Alcalá de Guadaíra; Alcala de Henares; Alcorcón; Alicante; Almeria; Alzira; Arganda del Rey; Badalona; Barcelona; Burgos; Cadiz; Castellón de la Plana; Cerdanyola del Vallès; Cordova; Cornellà de Llobregat; Coslada; Two sisters; Elche; Fuengirola; Fuenlabrada; Getafe; Gijón; Grenade; Granollers; Guadalajara; Hospitalet de Llobregat; Huelva; Jaén; Jerez de la Frontera; Leganés; Lion; Lleida; Logroño; Madrid; Malaga; Mataró; Mislata; Móstoles; Murcia; Oviedo; Palencia; Parla; Paternal; I paint; Reus; Las Rozas in Madrid; Sabadell; Salamanca; San Vicente del Raspeig; Sant Adrià de Besòs; Santa Coloma de Gramenet; Seville; Tavernes Blanques; Terrassa; Toledo; Torrejón de Ardoz; Torrent; Valdemoro; Valencia; Valladolid; Vigo; Vilafranca del Penedès; Vila-real; and Zaragoza.

As for the future review on the regulation of wholesale broadband markets, scheduled for 2022, this will increase the number of cities where O2 will give away the mobile line with its 300 Mbps fiber to 600 municipalities.
