Ahead of the scheduled date and after numerous leaks, LG officially announced in late April the LG Velvet, a new 5G terminal with which the company was launching a new line of design-focused smartphones and left the numbers behind in its nomenclature.
Before that model even went on sale in other countries, rumors started about a 4G variant of the Velvet, which, obviously, would mount a different processor (the Snapdragon 845) and it would have a more affordable price. Now, that LG Velvet 4G is already official, let’s see its differences and similarities with the 5G model.

A 4G pickle with a different brain
Although it has the same design as the 5G variant, the new LG Velvet 4G is available in two new colors: black and silver. Apart from that, the only difference with the other model is found in the processor: instead of a Snapdragon 765G with support for 5G networks, we have Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845, a chipset
For the rest, the LG Velvet has the same RAM (6 GB), the same internal storage (128 GB expandable), the same operating system (Android 10) and the same 4,300 mAh battery, which supports fast charging and wireless charging.
The front camera (16 MP), the rear camera (48 MP + 8 MP + 5 MP) and the compatibility with the Stylus Pen and the LG Dual Screen accessory are also maintained to provide the mobile with a second screen. Speaking of screens, the 6.8 inch OLED panel with FullHD + resolution, integrated fingerprint reader and curved edges it is exactly the same.
LG Velvet 4G versions and prices
The new LG Velvet 4G with LTE connectivity is already on the official website of LG Germany, but the South Korean company It has not yet confirmed to which countries it will arrive and at what price It will be available (it is specified with about 499 euros).
