NieR Automata already exceeds 5.5 million units sold

Today, February 23, 2021, the fourth anniversary of NieR: Automata. This installment originally arrived in Japan in 2017. To celebrate this important day, the title’s official Twitter account has revealed that the game already exceeds 5.5 million units sold worldwide. This number is made up of digital and physical copies.

The latest sales update was provided on Christmas Eve, when Square Enix revealed that NieR Automata had sold five million units. Thus, in just two months another 500 thousand cups of the game were moved. With a new series title on the horizon, we are likely to see another surge in popularity in the coming months.

Remember that prior to the launch of Automata, the NieR series was not so famous in the West. However, this title managed to connect with millions of people, making it the most successful installment in the franchise. In this way, we will see a remake of the first NieR, now known as NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139 …, on April 23, 2021.
