Equipment Needed

In making the waffles, two equipment will be needed. The first is the bain marie which is used to mix the ingredient. A bain marie is an equipment that keeps food warm due to the heat from the boiling water underneath. In place of this, you can put a bowl in a pot of water boiling over low heat.

When ready, you will transfer the batter into a bowl to keep in the refrigerator overnight. This is the reason why one with a cover will be preferable). You will also need a waffle iron to pour the batter into. This will help cook the batter and make it take the waffle shape.

How to Make the Shortcut Waffle Using the Waffle House Mix

First, you set your bain marie or put the bowl over boiling water. Then, you break your eggs into the bain marie/bowl. Pour your half and half into the bain marie/bowl and then whisk. Be careful, this part is very delicate. You need to whisk the eggs and the half and half till they are fully incorporated.

Next, you add the Waffle House Mix all at once since it doesn’t clump up. You whisk the batter till you get a very smooth consistency. You should keep on whisking until there are no lumps and all ingredients are incorporated. This makes a perfect batter for the waffle.

Once the batter is set, pour it into a bowl. The idea is to put the batter in the refrigerator overnight. This helps set it right and gives it more time for all ingredients to be incorporated. In the morning, take the batter out of the refrigerator.

Now, for the part people find the most fun! Pour the batter into the waffle iron machine. After doing that, let it cook for three minutes. The waffles should have a golden color to indicate that it is properly cooked and ready to eat. The best waffles are the ones that are crispy enough.

Finally, remove the waffles from the waffle iron and transfer them into a plate. You now have the perfect waffle made from home! It can be enjoyed with many options depending on personal preferences (syrup, cream, fruits, etc.).
