The NBA is going to implement a specific protocol – consisting of 158 pages – to try to control the situation with the coronavirus, trying to ensure that the games are played with the greatest possible health security.
To ensure that all teams comply with these protocols, ESPN has announced that the NBA will not shake its pulse to punish those who, by breaking the rules, end up infecting their rival teams.
In the case that the highest possible sanction was applied, the teams would see how some of their matches are counted as losses, as a punishment. The other sanctions that the NBA is considering are the loss of positions in the draft, financial sanctions and various suspensions.
The penalties for players who break the rules will be economic, since their salaries would be reduced, or they would have to spend a season in immediate quarantine.
