As part of the third match of FIBA EuroBasket Qualifiers Group B, the match between Italy and North Macedonia, scheduled to be played on Saturday 28 November, has been postponed.

Three coronavirus tests in the North Macedonia delegation were shown as the reason for the delay of the match.

The following statements were made in the statement made by FIBA:

“In accordance with the Covid-19 Protocol for the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) National Team and Club Competitions and following the recommendation of the FIBA Medical Commission, FIBA decided to postpone the Italy – North Macedonia match to be played in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia.

The decision was made by placing the health and safety of the players, coaches and officials in the first place, after positive test results were obtained in 3 people in the North Macedonian delegation. Other members of the band were isolated.

Further medical evaluations will be made after additional tests to the North Macedonian delegation. It will be decided after additional testing when the postponed match will be played, including the possibility of rescheduling in November.

FIBA will continue to monitor the status of the coronavirus outbreak and deliver other updates on tournaments as needed. “
