The Euroleague imposed a temporary ban for the Khimki Register new players in the competition after a suspected violation by delaying payments. The Euroleague finance team is investigating the team’s compliance status and a final decision is expected within 30 days.

According to the EuroLeague statement:

The Euroleague Basketball Management Control Commission (MCC) has referred Khimki to the Finance Panel for further monitoring of the club’s status of compliance with the Financial Stability and Fair Play Standards (FSFPR).

The procedure has been opened on the basis of an alleged infraction in the delay of payments, according to article 32.a), of the Disciplinary Code of the Basketball Euroleague. The regulation whose compliance is in question concerns payments to Khimki players by the club. The case arose from a complaint filed with the MCC by the Euroleague Players Association (ELPA). The Finance Panel’s decision is expected within 30 days, once the exchange of all communications is completed.

The Finance Panel has imposed an injunction prohibiting Khimki from registering new players until its decision is issued.
