The new coronavirus pandemic has caused at least 569,135 deaths worldwide since the WHO office in China reported the appearance of the disease in December, according to a balance established by the . this Monday at 11H00 GMT based on official sources.

Since the beginning of the epidemic, more than 12,927,000 people in 196 countries or territories have contracted the disease. Of them at least 6,905,200 were recovered, according to authorities.

The death toll in the United States, which recorded its first death linked to the virus in early February, stands at 135,205.

The country registered 3,304,942 infections. The authorities consider that 1,006,326 people were healed.

After the United States, the countries with the highest number of fatalities are Brazil with 72,100 deaths and 1,864,681 cases, the United Kingdom with 44,819 deaths (289,503 cases), Mexico with 35,006 deaths (299,750 cases) and Italy with 34,954 deaths (243,061 cases ).

China, without taking into account the territories of Hong Kong and Macao, registered a total of 83,602 cases, of which 4,634 died and 78,648 were completely healed.

On Monday at 11:00 GMT and since the beginning of the epidemic, Europe added 202,658 deaths (2,840,538 infections), Latin America and the Caribbean 144,765 (3,375,183), the United States and Canada 144,023 (3,412,531), Asia 43,822 (1,773,059), Middle East 20,481 (919,208), Africa 13,249 (594,925), and Oceania 137 (11,556).
