In a 100% Jeep Elite poster, Monaco signed a clear success on the Nanterre floor to start the Top 16 of the Eurocup in a brilliant way.
A Eurocoupe poster with the flavors of Jeep Elite, that’s what Nanterre and Monaco offered this Wednesday. On the floor of the Maurice-Thorez Sports Palace, the Principality’s players started the Top 16 very strongly. The “Roca Team” started strong with an 8-2 in the first four minutes. The gap fluctuated during the first quarter but it was in the second that Monegasque domination became more visible. If the Nanterriens were able to quickly come back to five lengths and then resist by coming back to seven points, the gap then quickly started to rise in favor of Zvezdan Mitrovic’s players, leaving little doubt about the conclusion of this meeting.
Thanks in particular to an 8-0, teammates Marcos Knight (20 points, 7 rebounds) and Rob Gray (19 points) took a lead that came close to 20 points. It was only at the end of the third quarter that this bar could be exceeded thanks to a new series for ASM, an 11-0. At the very end of the game, when the gap reached 30 points, Brian Conklin (14 points) and Nanterre let go of the horses but it was really too late. In a largely controlled match, Monaco wins by 28 points (65-93) and takes the lead of Group E ahead of Joventut Badalone, winner in Malaga in a 100% Spanish match, at the end of this first day of the Top 16.
