The Mercedes-Benz Vision EQS is a concept electric saloon. It boasts a battery of 100 kilowatt hours of capacity, 470 horsepower and a range of about 700 kilometers.
The Mercedes-Benz EQS is the next electric saloon from the German brand. It is derived from the Vision EQS prototype. His presentation is expected for next year, although it will not be put on sale until 2021. He has recently been in Los Angeles, at a media event where Mercedes has moved a concept car and a pre-production unit, hidden in camouflage paint.

MERCEDES-BENZ VISION EQS: EXTERIOR
The Mercedes-Benz Vision EQS stands out for its harmonious silhouette, which evokes with its apparent simplicity the cars that once broke speed records. With no sharp lines or edges, the entire model is a single volume that cuts the wind.
Its architecture is based on a combination of steel with aluminum and carbon fiber.
It is built on a new platform that allows scaling up and its use in very different models. The wheelbase, track width and all other elements of the system, especially batteries, are variable thanks to the modular component system.
The light strip connects the front light cluster with the exterior. It generates a chromatic separation between the upper half of the vehicle –black in color– and the lower half –silverized–, united by a blue light beam that evokes electrical technology.
The headlamps incorporate Digital Light technology and holographic lens modules, with “almost limitless” possibilities for light configuration.
The space that once occupied the front grille is now presided over by a backlit emblem that stands out against a sea of 188 blue stars, which also emit light. Another 288 appear behind, illuminated with each braking. The starry motif drinks from the decoration used by the Formula 1 team.
MERCEDES-BENZ VISION EQS: INTERIOR
The Mercedes-Benz Vision EQS features an interior inspired by luxury yachts.
With capacity for four people, the interior includes in its structure a floating bar that begins in the dashboard and extends to the rear window to divide the cabin in two.
The entire dashboard blends into the volume of the front trim in a wraparound sculpture that also integrates the center console and armrests. The information is visualized through a combination of screen and projection areas that emerge from the interior architecture.
The range of materials is a combination of both traditional and advanced technology raw materials, such as Dinamica microfiber, which is obtained from recycled bottles and is combined with flamed maple wood. Leather is synthetic. The interior roof material is the result of a special development project.
MERCEDES-BENZ VISION EQS: EQUIPMENT
The Mercedes-Benz Vision EQS can assist the driver with level 3 autonomous driving, although the modular design of the sensors would make it possible in the future to extend that level to achieve full autonomous driving.
MERCEDES-BENZ VISION EQS: MECHANICAL
The Mercedes-Benz Vision EQS equips two electric motors – one on each axle – that deliver a combined power of more than 470 horsepower. Its torque is 760 Newton meter.
Its top speed is over 200 km / hour. It takes 4.5 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / hour.
Its autonomy reaches 700 kilometers in WLTP cycle. With a 350 kilowatt charger, the battery goes from 0% to 80% in less than 20 minutes.
The battery is integrated into the vehicle floor, right between the two axles to create the optimal center of gravity for agile and sporty driving. It has electric all-wheel drive with variable torque distribution between the two axles.
