Mejía will circulate the second part of the book

The second part of the book “Dominican Sports and its Environment”, authored by the prestigious former sports leader and lawyer Gonzalo Mejía, will be put into circulation next Wednesday, November 25, in a ceremony that will be held in the Auditorium of the Pavilion of the Fame of Dominican Sports, located in the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center.

This part II of the aforementioned publication consists of more than 650 pages and complements the first edition that met expectations and was the subject of multiple praise.

The call for the important event is made by Luis Mejía Oviedo, president of the Dominican Olympic Committee (COD) and Dionisio Guzmán Cabral, president of the Permanent Committee of the Dominican Sports Pavilion of Fame.

The Minister of Sports, Francisco Camacho, has been invited to pronounce a few words in the release of the book “Dominican Sports and its Environment.”

The activity is scheduled to begin at 5:00 in the afternoon and for the occasion attendees must appear with masks and observe social distancing when occupying their respective seats.

The second part of the book “Dominican Sports and its Environment” part II collects the history of Dominican sports from 1964 to 1986 and constitutes a compendium of 652 pages illustrated with photographs of the facts and events addressed in it.

It was designed by Nandy Rivas, Publicidad and printed at the Búho publishing house and only 1,500 copies were printed. This part II of the book “The Dominican Sport and its Environment” complements the first publication that was 430 pages long and that constitutes a compilation of the history of Dominican sport until 1963.

The content of the first publication is full of the different times that Dominican sport has lived, especially the origin of baseball in the country, on the laws that govern the sport. It also collects important events from 1910.
