The Japanese brand has just announced all the changes and details that will be improved in the Mazda cx-5 for 2022. In fact, the start of the commercialization of this restyling is scheduled for the month of January, having already confirmed that the starting price is 30,900 euros.
We must not forget that the CX-5 is the the company’s best-selling model worldwide. Therefore, its importance is maximum and each small modification must be prepared with great care. In any case, let’s see what changes in this update from the generation released in 2017.
Rolling and comfort improvements
First of all, and focusing on the technical section, the Japanese firm comments that they have increased the chassis and body stiffness, improving the soundproofing of the passenger compartment and reducing vibrations. Of course, they do not say in which areas that stiffness has increased. They have also revised suspension achieving, according to them, a better response and comfort on the road, especially in bumpy areas.
By the way, the Japanese company highlights that the CX-5 has a Mazda Intelligent Drive driving mode selector (Mi-Drive) for the first time in the gasoline versions with automatic transmission. If our unit also has four-wheel drive, the system will additionally have a off-road specific mode to improve your skills off asphalt and on more delicate surfaces.
Mazda CX-5 2022: Aesthetic brushstrokes and new finishes
While, aesthetically there are easily noticeable changes such as the bumpers, the revised grille, the updated headlights and pilot lights or the 19-inch wheels as standard. In addition, a new tone for the body is added, the color Zircon Sand that we see in some images in this article. At inside, Mazda CX-5 has also improved its seats to improve driver comfort and adds a wireless charging tray for mobile.
Mazda has modified the structure of finishes in the new CX-5, as there are now no less than six: Origin, Evolution, Newground, Zenith, Homura and Signature. Termination Newground part of the Evolution and provides a more offroad style with silver-finish fenders and some elements with lime green details.

In gasoline, the 2.0 Skyactiv-G block (without turbo) will be used in 165 and 194 hp with cylinder disconnection, while the diesel engine is also a 2-liter turbo in 150 and 184 hp versions. Depending on the engine, you can choose manual or automatic transmission, as well as simple or 4 × 4 traction.
