Marseille will do without Valbuena

Mathieu Valbuena will not return to face OM, his former club, at the Stade Vélodrome on December 1 in the Champions League. The Olympiakos midfielder is injured for several weeks.

We will not see his effigy hanging from a rope or projectiles thrown in his direction. Mathieu Valbuena will not relive this funny September 20, 2015. For his return to the Stade Vélodrome, after eight years spent with the OM jersey (2006-2014), the French midfielder was greeted with hostility from part of the Marseille public during the match between Marseille and Lyon.

The December 1st, there will be no spectators to attend OM-Olympiakos (4th day of the Champions League), nor Mathieu Valbuena. The Greek club player is on the sidelines for a little while, he announced on social media on Thursday.

The 36-year-old midfielder was injured in training and will be forfeited for “several weeks”, we learn, without knowing the nature of the injury or the duration of the unavailability.
