Mallorca wins the friendly derby against Ibiza

The recently promoted to the Second Division, UD Ibiza, came very close to complicating things for Real Mallorca, who added their third consecutive victory in the third friendly of their particular preseason. Everything, triumphs by the minimum.

The Ibizan team went ahead on the scoreboard thanks to an extraordinary goal from Rodado but, later, Luis García Plaza’s team came back from the clash with targets from Mboula and Lago Junior.

The first part was characterized by a theoretical dominance of Real Mallorca, which had options to open the scoring with actions from Tovar, Lago Junior, Jordi Mboula and Salva Sevilla. However, it was Ángel Rodado, who, before reaching the first half hour, with an extraordinary volley from the Mallorcan mid-line, scored for an Ibiza that played the First Division rival face to face.

Juan Carlos Carcedo’s team showed a touch football and on very few occasions, he used long balls.

After the break, Jaume Costa made their debut as Real Mallorca players, after his signing for the Balearic club from Villareal, and Ángel Rodríguez, who arrived from Getafe. The Mallorcan coach, Luis García Plaza, asked his men for more intensity.

The tie came in the 53rd minute. A good action by young Pablo Gálvez, who had replaced Jaume Tovar minutes earlier, caused Jordi Mboula to level the score.

Very shortly after, in a personal move, Lago Junior, from the vertex of the area, looked for the squad of Marco Pitiuso and found the 1-2 after his right hand had previously hit the post before entering the Ibizan portal.

The final section became a wheel of changes. Cifuentes was able to get the tie but his low shot crashed into the base of the post of the Majorcan frame. And the thing is that UD Ibiza held the guy very well until the final whistle.
