Taika Waititi continues to complete the list of select guests who will join Thor on his fourth solo adventure: “Love and Thunder.” After confirming the return of Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Tessa Thompson as Valkyria, and the incorporation of Christian Bale as an undisclosed villain, now two of the most famous Guardians of the Galaxy have been confirmed to accompany the God of Thunder.
As reported by nme.com, actor Chris Pratt, who plays the Guardian leader Star-Lord, has been officially confirmed for the film starring Chris Hemsworth. This is consistent with the idea that Love and Thunder will begin immediately after the end of “Avengers: Endgame,” with Thor accompanying the group of space heroes on their mission to find Gamora.
With Pratt on board the project, the most logical thing is to think that he will not arrive alone, but will be accompanied by other members of the Guardians of the Galaxy, such as Groot (Vin Diesel), Rocket Racoon (Bradley Cooper) or Gamora herself (Zoe Saldana ). At the moment Marvel has not confirmed any other stars, but Diesel’s latest comments could suggest the return of the endearing tree man.
The protagonist of “Bloodshot,” who is already working on its sequel, was recently seen in Sydney, Australia, where Natalie Portman is also, presumably attending the pre-production process for “Thor: Love and Thunder.”
“I’m looking forward to James Gunn starting Guardians of the Galaxy 3,” he said in an interview while promoting “Bloodshot.” “He’s with ‘The Suicide Squad’ now, but he’s going to ship with Vol. 3 and Thor as well. The director told me that ‘Love and Thunder’ will incorporate several of the Guardians of the Galaxy, “he added.
Taking into account that the last time Thor was seen at the end of “Endgame” he was accompanied by all the members of the Guardians, it is most likely that in the coming weeks it will be confirmed to the rest of the cast, that at least they will have a cameo in the next space odyssey of the heir of Asgard.
“Thor: Love and Thunder” is scheduled to premiere on February 11, 2022.
