Los Angeles police investigate allegations of violence against Marilyn Manson

Los Angeles police are investigating domestic violence allegations against singer Marilyn Manson, the local sheriff’s office said Friday.

The confirmation of the investigations comes after several women, including American actress Evan Rachel Wood, accused Manson of harassment and rape.

“The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Office of Special Victims is investigating the allegation (s) of domestic violence involving Brian Warner aka ‘Marilyn Manson,’ who works in the music industry.” police said in a statement.

“The incidents occurred between 2009 and 2011 when Warner lived in the city of West Hollywood,” they noted.

The statement does not mention the alleged victims. Manson and Wood had a known relationship since 2007, which ended in 2010.

Manson, 52, has denied the allegations by Wood, 33, calling them “horrific distortions of reality” in an Instagram post last month.

It is not the first time that the Los Angeles police have investigated Manson.

In 2018, an investigation was opened against him for sexual abuse, aggravated assault and assault with a deadly weapon, in events dating back to 2011.

The accusation of sexual abuse was unsuccessful “due to a lack of corroboration”, while the other two had prescribed, according to official documents of the Prosecutor’s Office.

The alleged victim in that case was an “acquaintance of the suspect,” a police report indicated.

Manson has long been speculated to be the person Evan Rachel Wood had reported in 2018 during a Congressional hearing on sexual assault, without revealing his identity.

In a message published in early February, the “Westworld” actress revealed that the attacker was the singer.

Wood said Manson “brainwashed and manipulated her,” but said she was sick of living in fear of “retaliation, defamation or blackmail” from “this dangerous man.”

Manson, who has created a controversial and gothic-inspired image (she wears makeup and contact lenses of different colors and black hair), has broken her relationship with the record label Loma Vista Recordings and the Hollywood agency CAA in the wake of the scandal .
