“Let’s Wait For It To Pass”

Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix has revealed that the band is putting off the release of their next album until the Covid-19 pandemic subsides.

In a new interview with Germany’s Rock Antenne radio, he said: « Tours will not be back for the remainder of the year. There will be some one-off concerts here and there, but we are not going to put out a new album and tour until 2022. Just we’re going to wait ».

Shaddix also revealed that the band has been focusing on new material during the lockdown, having written around 14 tracks for the follow-up to the 2019 album ‘Who Do You Trust’.

« Now that we’re at this point in the process, it’s February, and I’m, like, ‘Okay. Maybe we’re going to record another record. So when we get out, we’ll have a ton of music to drop and we’ll be lining up to rip it off for a while. « , He said.

« Because the creative process is essential to our sanity. My bassist, Tobin [Esperance], write one or two songs a day. And I have this little space here where I am – this is my little place where I demo ideas and things. It is important for us to maintain some element of creativity to feel that we have a purpose. «

The update comes after Shaddix recently teamed up with TikTok star Jeris Johnson for an ornate version of the 2000 band’s anthem ‘Last Resort.’

« It was amazing to hear that Jeris connected with the theme in the same way that people around the world did, » Shaddix said of the new version.

« That ‘Last Resort’ conversation and its impact on all types of people hasn’t ceased in 20 years, and we were excited to ‘Reload’ for a new generation to keep that conversation going. »

Meanwhile, Shaddix, Tommy Lee, and members of the Five Finger Death Punch star in the new horror movie The Retaliators.
