Leon Ruff is the first Evolve talent to sign with WWE after the purchase of the company.

The wrestler has participated in WWE Main Event and NXT shows.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson has reported that the independent fighter who was fighting among other companies in Evolve, Leon Ruff has signed a contract with WWE.

Ruff has appeared on Raw, SmackDown, Main Event, NXT, and 205 Live. during this time of struggles without an audience after previously working for EVOLVE.

WWE acquired EVOLVE on July 2, and reportedly acquired several talents in the deal, though Ruff is the first confirmed signature.

He continued, “I wasn’t working during the pandemic, I started getting these additional places and I really started working hard so they could keep bringing me back so I could start bringing in more money to help contribute to the home.”

Ruff is currently dating NXT referee Aja Smith. She recently fought Drake Maverick on the July 24 episode of 205 Live.
