Legendary college basketball coach and Hall of Famer, Eddie Sutton, He died this Saturday at the age of 84 according to a news article published by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. Sutton was receiving palliative care.
Eddie Sutton spent 40 years of his life as college coach. He finished his career with a record of 806 wins and 329 losses, being one of 12 coaches who has managed to break the 800-win mark. His entry into the Hall of Fame occurred in April, along with NBA legends such as Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett.
Eddie Sutton was a fascinating and complicated person. He also was an unbelievable teacher of the game of basketball. I was fortunate and lucky to have learned from him. Grateful.
