The British driver Lando Norris started the 2020 season with the right foot and the best thing is that it has been with a podium – the first in F1 -, thanks to third place in the Red Bull Ring. The good news for McLaren did not stop there as Carlos Sainz finished fifth. Woking’s are now second in the constructors’ championship.

“” First of all, congratulations to Lando for his first podium in F1, and also to the entire team for a very solid first weekend! For my part, in general it was a good race and with a good comeback in the last stint. It was an interesting race with several Safety Cars and many battles on the track.
I am looking forward to running here again in seven days. We have good opportunities and it can be important for the rest of the championship. It’s time to stay focused and prepare well to get back on track. “

“I am in a cloud. It is my best result in Formula 1 and my first podium. We are all very happy, it is a great achievement for the first race. We have achieved it on our own merits: our pace has been very good throughout The whole weekend. It was not easy: we have not had the third fastest car on the grid but we have almost always embroidered it. We have limited our mistakes and have taken advantage of every opportunity that has been presented to us.
That is why we have achieved a podium, so I have to thank the team members who are at home and those who are on the circuit for their hard work. I would love to say that we can do it again next week. It is true that we have been a little lucky but we have a good car and we have started the season with a great result. We know we have a lot of work to do but if we can maintain this momentum, perhaps we can have a great season. “
