After missing last season with a knee injury, Klay Thompson ruptured the Achilles tendon in his right leg. He will be missed by the Golden State Warriors for another year.
But what a curse for the Golden State Warriors! During the 2019 Finals, Californians saw their “dynasty” come to a halt with serious injuries to Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant, victims of a cruciate ligament rupture and a ruptured Achilles tendon respectively. … In the same game!
A year later, the Warriors, after a last season to forget (Stephen Curry was also injured), hoped to get back to the front. Without Durant, left for Brooklyn, but with the return of Thompson and Curry alongside Draymond Green, to reform the original “Big Three” of the San Francisco franchise.
This prospect is already to be forgotten. Even before the first game of the 2020-2021 season, Klay Thompson suffered a serious injury in training. Hit in the Achilles tendon, the elite shooter took exams which revealed the worst: rupture of the tendon. And a news of absence of a year to be expected, according to ESPN.

At 30, Klay Thompson will therefore miss a second full season in a row. His last game dates back to June 2019, and in Game 5 of the Finals against Toronto where he was keen to shoot his free throws despite his serious knee injury. It’s terrible to imagine that he probably won’t play again until fall 2021.
Klay Thompson has the ultimate warrior spirit 🙏
