Khabib Nurmagomedov may return to the Octagon, but first RDA must beat Islam Makhachev

Although it has been months since Khabib Nurmagomedov retired, the UFC lightweights continue to ask him for a fight.

Now Rafael dos Anjos has affirmed that ‘The Eagle’ would agree to come out of retirement to avenge a defeat of his ward and close friend Islam Makhachev in case he falls into the hands of the Brazilian. In a recent tweet, Rafael dos Anjos claimed that the UFC booked him a fight against Islam Makhachev on October 30 in Abu Dhabi that the RDA accepted.


“I just heard from the UFC that Islam agreed to fight me on October 30 at 5 rounds in Abu Dhabi and Khabib agreed to come out of retirement to avenge his brother’s defeat after that.«Wrote Rafael dos Anjos.

ESPN’s Brett Okamoto reported on the matter shortly after, following a conversation with Islam Makhachev and Khabib Nurmagomedov’s manager Ali Abdelaziz. According to Okamoto’s tweet, Abdelaziz confirmed that the UFC wants Islam Makhachev to fight in OctoberBut the Dagestani is flying back to Russia and wants to fight no earlier than December.

As for Khabib Nurmagomedov, Ali Abdelaziz ruled out any possibility of his return and noted that he has already fought and defeated Rafael dos Anjos once.
