On the occasion of celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, Billboard has made a list of the 50 best Hispanic songs of all history, whose interpreters include the Dominicans, Juan Luis Guerra and Grupo Aventura.
According to the official Billboard portal, the journey to choose the 50 best Latin songs of all time took them through space and time, from Argentina to Spain and from the 1920s to 2018.
“We wanted to represent the full spectrum of Latin music (including the music of Spain), from Mexican ballads. to the Cuban son to the Colombian sauce to today’s bachata. Our standard of selection was not just hits, but songs that made a difference, that made a difference, that influenced many, and that were simply great compositions, « the statement said.
Creoles figure with the songs « Bubbles of Love » and « Obsession » by Juan Luis Guerra y Aventura, respectively.
Billboard assured that the most important thing is that, although 50 is not a large enough number to encompass the enormous universe of the Latin songbook, each of these songs is still relevant today.
Among the songs on the list are “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi; Daddy Yankee’s “Gasolina”; « Guantanamera » by Celia Cruz; « El gran hombre » by Willie Colón, among others.
