It is official. Javi Gracia is chosen by Peter Lim and his board to solve Valencia’s problems, which will not be in European competitions next season. The Navarrese coach signs until June 30, 2022.
«Valencia has always been an ambitious club, of seasoned players giving their all up to the 90th minute and committed to the shield. The effort is non-negotiable and that is what has led us and will take us to the best moments of our club. Let’s draw together the first page of this story. Let’s start, amunt Valencia! », said the new Valencian coach in a video from Mestalla shared by the club.

Despite the fact that other candidates such as Bordalás or Rubén Baraja were handled, Peter Lim has opted for Javi Gracia, who started with an advantage over Bordalás because he could already join. The Pamplona-born coach faces the most important challenge of his career after going through clubs like Osasuna, Malaga or Watford, the last place he has trained.
His great objective is to try to make Marcelino García Toral forget, whose shadow haunted Albert Celades a lot, as well as restoring calm to Mestalla. For now, the club has shown confidence in the new project by signing the coach until 2022.
