INNIO’s “Ready for H2” Product Portfolio
Starting today, Jenbacher Type 4 gas engines – rated at approximately 500 to 900 kilowatts (kW) – are available to run on 100% hydrogen or on natural gas / hydrogen mixtures.
Starting in 2022, the rest of INNIO’s Jenbacher gas engines will be offered with the option “Ready for H2”, which allows operation with a volume of up to 25% hydrogen in the pipeline gas and can be easily converted to switch operation with 100% natural gas with hydrogen.

The result of decades of experience
Twenty years ago, the first 150 kW Jenbacher pilot engine ran on 100% hydrogen at a demonstration plant in northern Germany.
