The Cruz Azul players complained to the central referee, who took the ball and decided to resolve the situation with a goal kick and thus give continuity to the game, although with the inconvenience of the Machine team.
On the play, seconds before Luis Romo had failed in front of the goal and his shot hit the crossbar and the rebound was for Rodríguez who hit him hard, but the ball hit the referee who accompanied the play.
