Henry in Bournemouth, it becomes clearer

The English D2 club asked Montreal for permission to negotiate with Thierry Henry.

Bournemouth insists on Thierry Henry. Looking for a new trainer, the England D2 club have made the former Arsenal striker their priority for the coaching position, vacant since the beginning of February.

The Cherries, who have also considered other big names in the Premier League like John Terry and even Frank Lampard, have asked Montreal for permission to chat with their coach. Henry is in fact still under contract with the Canadian team, with whom he is preparing to resume MLS next April.

Henry is not the only candidate considered by Bournemouth. The current 6th in the Championship, who wants to get back to the Premier League as quickly as possible, is interested in another former Arsenal legend and the France team, Patrick Vieira. The other option leads to current interim coach Jonathan Woodgate.

It would be Henry’s third No. 1 post, after AS Monaco and Montreal. He has also coached Arsenal youth, and was assistant to Belgian coach Roberto Martinez.
