Eder Sarabia has been presented this Tuesday as the new coach of Gerard Piqué’s Andorra. The former second coach of Barcelona has remembered in his appearance of Quique Setién: “Without him I wouldn’t be here”he said as soon as he sat down at the press conference. The Basque faces his first experience as the first coach at the club that plays in the Second Division B.
«I wanted to remember Quique Setién. Let’s see if I’m not excited, for me he has been a very special person. After my father he is the most important person I have met in the world of football. He is much more than a friend, he is like a father. My father already told me that he would be the most honest and honest person that he was going to find me and if I am here it is thanks to him ”, assured the new Andorra coach.
On the verge of tears, Eder Sarabia spoke of all the experience he had acquired in recent years with Setién: «I couldn’t have had a better person to work with. We have had incredible moments, I have learned a lot, our relationship is extraordinary. I know it will be one of the main critics because it will be there trying to help. Now our paths part, but perhaps in the future they will cross again.
He also referred to Gerard Piqué and his relationship with the Barcelona dressing room: «That a person like Piqué choose me for this project somehow silences some rumors or things that could be thought or misinterpreted. It is true that there are moments in the games and there is tension, we will not deny that there is discussion in the dressing room. In that famous intermission in Vigo, it happened, but they are things that do not go anywhere, that are understood as part of our work.
Finally, Sarabia thanked Andorra for their confidence: «I wanted to thank the club for the opportunity and talk about three things. We come with great enthusiasm, we have detected in the club the desire to grow. They have convinced us quickly and we want to demonstrate our experience and knowledge».
