Government does not rule out action against those who did not guarantee resources to compensate relatives of deceased doctors

Health Minister Jeyson Auza ratified that to date the policy for the payment of the compensation to relatives of deceased doctors in the pandemic because the previous government did not guarantee the resources. For this reason, he did not rule out that the Government takes legal action against those who did not comply with the entire procedure for this benefit to be effective.

«The policy was never paid. It was an empty decree and surely as a government we are going to take measures against those people who have made fun of health workers because they did not guarantee the resources for this benefit, « he said.

Auza added that for this reason none of the relatives of deceased doctors has yet received compensation.

He added that he continues to explore a solution for the families of deceased doctors.

«We are committed to establishing dialogue tables that allow us to respond to these populations. We are in that logic », he insisted.

Since the beginning of this month, technical tables have been installed between government personnel and medical leaders to find a solution to this issue. However, these weeks were suspended due to another conflict between doctors and the Executive Branch.

Health professionals comply today the fourth day of national strike against the Sanitary Emergency Law. The measure will run until February 28.

Decree No. 4217 for the compensation to relatives of deceased doctors was approved last year. Establish an amount of Bs 100,000. However, the relatives claim that after the death of their relatives they must go through the process of pilgrimage and are unable to receive the benefit when many must cover debts.
