GM introduced a flying taxi

GM unveiled two Cadillac models at CES 2021, including a flying taxi that goes 90 kilometers per hour.

General Motors (GM) displayed its cards at the 2021 Consumer Electronics Show, including a Cadillac-branded flying car.

Michael Simcoe, GM vice president of global design, delivered the presentation. Recall that CES 2021 takes place virtually, due to the coronavirus.

Both vehicles are autonomous. One is single-seat, with speeds of up to 90 kilometers per hour, vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL).

According to GM, the flying Cadillac has four rotors powered by a single electric motor.

While the other – which also reaches 90 kilometers per hour – receives two passengers, also without a pilot.

Presentation by Michael Simcoe, GM Vice President of Design

“You’ve been to the office and now you need to get to a meeting on the other side of town. The eVTOL is on the roof, he takes it and leaves it in the necessary port, ”says Simcoe.

« It’s a concept for a time when time is of the essence and comfort is everything, » he added.

The Cadillac Personal Autonomous Vehicle, which is for two people, has another detail. Is that it measures the vital signs of each passenger, thanks to biometric sensors in the leather seats.

Although they are only designs and it is unknown when they will be produced, the simple news generated a rise in GM shares. These reached a rebound of 8.8% to 48.95 each share.

The market capitalization reached 70 billion dollars! An extraordinary figure just by presenting the video. A great challenge for General Motors and its flying Cadillac.
