Lio Rush will have his last fight after being fired by WWE
Superstar Lio Rush, recently fired, revealed on Instagram that she would make an announcement about her latest fight for July 20. The post was accompanied by a video.
Lio Rush also asked fans who they’d like to see him face in his latest fight in a follow-up post.
You can see the Instagram posts below:
Lio Rush was fired from WWE on April 15 earlier this year as part of the company’s budget cuts due to the coronavirus pandemic. Rush was one of the many talents who were shown the door and the former cruiserweight champion had even hinted in May that he would retire from active competition in the ring.
Rush recently released his first studio album titled ‘Ever After’ and it seems that the 25-year-old star wants to focus all his attention on his promising rap career.
WWE News: The real replay between Vince McMahon and Brock Lesnar
Brock Lesnar has not appeared on WWE TV since WrestleMania 36 and speculation suggests he should be back in time for SummerSlam. However, with SummerSlam at the Performance Center, this could change and not make its long-awaited return.
Tom Colohue revealed in the latest Dropkick DiSKussions podcast that Brock Lesnar respects Vince McMahon so much that he would appear at a WWE event if the boss asks him. Of course, Brock Lesnar would also be performing for payday, but added that Lesnar and McMahon share a great backstage relationship.
Tom noted that Vince McMahon enjoys a similar connection to Brock Lesnar than to The Undertaker.
Tom explained that Brock respects Vince in a big way, and that if Vince asks him to come back even if it doesn’t benefit him, he will, even if it means that his paycheck will be reduced on payday.
Plans for the Eye for an Eye fight between Rey Mysterio and Seth Rollins
WWE has scheduled the eye for an eye-to-eye fight between Seth Rollins and Rey Mysterio at Extreme Rules. WWE confirmed that in order to win the fight, the Superstar would have to ‘take out the Eye of his opponent’.
That doesn’t sound PG and it’s certainly not something that can be shown in its real form on WWE TV.
Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the Eye for a Eye Match would be a prerecorded film match.
It was added that the company plans to use CGI (computer generated images) to “simulate that the Eye is being removed.”
WWE, after all, has a plan, but execution is important in this case.
Various reports are circulating about Rey Mysterio’s uncertain future in WWE, and the end of his fight at Extreme Rules could depend on whether Mysterio reaches any deal.
If Mysterio doesn’t sign a new contract, he could possibly be pulled from television by being booked to lose. However, as Dave Meltzer pointed out, WWE could also push him to sign and defeat Seth Rollins on the show and have Monday Night Messiah come out with an eye patch before booking a ‘magic story’.
However, fans will face another exciting cinematic fight in ‘The Horror Show at Extreme Rules’.
