“For irresponsible,” says Fox, López-Gatell has Covid-19

Through his Twitter account, the former president of Mexico (December 1, 2000 – November 30, 2006), Vicente Fox Quesada, noted that the Undersecretary of Prevention and Health Promotion, Hugo Lopez-Gattel got sick from Covid-19 « for irresponsible and deceitful ».

Yesterday, Saturday, the official announced that he began to present symptoms from Friday night, for which after an examination he was confirmed contagion by Covid-19, although he said that the discomfort was mild.

« I publicly share that I have # COVID19. I started with symptoms last night, fortunately they are mild, » López-Gattel announced.

The undersecretary pointed out that the antigen test was positive and I am waiting for the PCR. « I will be working from home, pending the vaccination strategy, » López-Gatell said in his statement.

Fox Quesada’s comment on social networks generated many comments, both for and against. Some pointed out that López-Gattel did not take care of himself or recommend the mask in time, in addition to recalling his controversial trip to the beach a few weeks ago.

Other users lamented the « irresponsible » way in which a former president of Mexico expresses himself, having no respect for the health status of other people, beyond political differences.

For its part, López-Gattel’s announcement generated various reactions. The UN wished him a « speedy recovery » and expressed its solidarity with the official.
