Football | Dutch footballer Jergé Hoefdraad is shot dead

According to the Dutch press, Hoefdraad was shot when he tried to mediate a fight during a party, at dawn from Saturday to Sunday, and was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery.

The confirmation of his death comes after a great controversy, as the Netherlands media, citing police sources, reported on Monday the footballer’s death while he was still in critical condition.

The former Dutch international Ryan Babel, who coincided with Hoefdraad at Ajax, was one of the first to show his condolences through social media, in which he published a black and white photo of the victim with the text “Life is short. RIP ”.

Hoefdraad, 35, was trained in the ranks of Ajax and then went through various Dutch clubs, such as RKC Waalwijk, Telstar, Almere City and SC Cambuur, with whom he played in the first division. He was currently a member of the Volewijckers, an amateur club.
