Today’s event was shorter than normal, but not without surprises. One of them has undoubtedly been the announcement of the release of the final versions of iOS 14, iPadOS 14, tvOS 14 and watchOS 7, which will be tomorrow same September 16. The Golden Master versions of all those systems have just landed, so developers only have 24 hours to work with them.
Let’s do a quick review of the main news: iOS 14 brings the expected widgets that will brighten the view of the main screen and the application library, iPadOS 14 introduces us to handwriting on the iPad, watchOS 7 launches sleep monitoring and new spheres and tvOS 14 features face recognition, the Home app, and PiP in some videos.
We will continue to wait for macOS Big Sur, but for obvious reasons
macOS Big Sur is out of this round of updates. It is normal that we see a difference in launch dates between macOS and other systems, although this year the justification is even greater: macOS Big Sur is the first version of macOS installed on Macs with Apple Silicon that we will see before the end of the year. We will surely hear from him in the coming months.
While we wait for this, let’s focus on what’s coming tomorrow. If we have to pay attention to the releases of past years, we should have iOS 14, iPadOS 14, watchOS 7 and tvOS 14 around 7:00 p.m. in Spain (12:00 p.m. in Mexico). Be careful though: due to the high demand, Apple’s servers are likely to crash. If you want advice, it is best to wait a few hours or the next day if you want to download quickly.
