Yesterday we informed you that presenter Geoff Keighley revealed the nominees for The Game Awards 2020. The Last of Us: Part II was the title that topped the list with 10 nominations in various categories. This has not been the only thing that has given PlayStation fans to talk about, as a message from one of the composer of the series suggests that there will be more surprises to come.
One of the most important nominations that The Last of Us: Part II received is for its soundtrack and music section, which was provided by Gustavo Santaolalla, the Argentine composer who also participated in the original delivery.
The Argentine creative winner of 2 Oscars through his Twitter account said he was grateful for the nomination and also showed his gratitude to Naughty Dog and Neil Druckmanm (vice president of the study) for offering him the opportunity.
What caught the attention of the fans and let their imagination fly is that Santaolalla closes the message stating that it is “only the beginning.” As you imagine this could be interpreted in many ways and has given rise to much speculation on the part of his followers.
In case you missed it: Neil Drukckmann hinted that Naughty Dog might be working on multiplayer for The Last of Us: Part II.
Fans believe Gustavo Santaolalla hinted at a new The Last of Us project
Most have thought that this message might suggest that the composer will collaborate on more projects with Naughty Dog, but more adventurous fans believe that it is related to a possible sequel or new title in the universe of The Last of Us: Part II.
However, we invite you not to get too excited and think that this means a third part of The Last of Us or even DLC for the last title, since Santaolalla could well refer to the television adaptation of The Last of Us, since It has already been confirmed that it will be part of the project.
In terms of video games, while the studio is probably already working on a new game for PlayStation 5 after the release of Uncharted 4, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and The Last of Us: Part II, it is unlikely that the new project is related to this last franchise, taking into account that the most recent installment has just debuted.
We remind you that, if you think that the soundtrack should win the award for soundtrack and music, you can vote for this title on the The Game Awards 2020 page.
Congrats !!!! “Just the beginning …..”
