Netflix has released the first trailer for‘The Witcher: The Wolf’s Nightmare’ (The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf), an anime film adaptation of the hit fantasy series starring Henry Cavill, has also announced that ‘Divergent’ star Theo James has been officially cast in the title role of Vesemir, a character to be played by Kim Bodnia in the second season of ‘The Witcher’.
The ‘The Witcher’ universe expands with this original story. Before Geralt was his mentor, Vesemir, a swashbuckling young warlock who escaped a life of poverty to slaughter monsters for coins. But when a strange new monster begins to terrorize a politically strained kingdom, Vesemir finds himself on a terrifying adventure that forces him to confront the demons of his past.
In the books, Vesemir is Geralt of Rivia’s mentor and father figure. The story will explore his early years as a sorcerer after the mysterious Deglan claims him through the Law of Surprise.
With a release scheduled for August 23, the film alongside James will feature the original voices of Lara Pulver (‘Sherlock’) as Tetra, Graham McTavish (‘Outlander’) as Deglan and Mary McDonell (‘Dance with Wolves’) as Lady. Zerbst. The film is directed by Kwang Il Han from a script by Beau DeMayo, who in turn has been inspired by the characters created by Andrzej Sapkowski.
DeMayo is also a producer along with the showrunner of the original series, Lauren Schmidt Hissrich.The film is a production of Studio Mir, the Korean animation studio behind projects such as’ Legend of Korra ‘(by Nickelodeon) and’ Voltron Legendary. Defend ‘(from Netflix).
