France coach Vincent Collet unveiled on Friday the list of twelve players selected to face Montenegro and Great Britain next month in the Euro 2022 qualifiers.
Les Bleus with Thomas Heurtel and Maxime Roos to continue their elimination campaign for Euro 2022. During a video-conference press conference, Vincent Collet, accompanied by the general manager of the team Patrick Beesley, unveiled late Friday morning the list of twelve players summoned to play the next two meetings of the Blues on the road to EuroBasket 2022, against Montenegro and Great Britain, respectively on February 20 and 22, during matches which will both be disputed due to the health situation on the floor of Sportski Centar Moraca in Podgorica, Montenegro.
Thomas Heurtel and Maxime Roos are the two innovations compared to the latest lists. Released for the occasion by FC Barcelona, where his coach no longer relies on him, without having been transferred for the moment by the Catalan club, the former leader of Pau-Lacq-Orthez, bronze medalist with France at the Spanish World Cup and crowned European champion a year earlier in Slovenia, is back in the France group, where he replaces David Michineau.
Jaiteh will have to wait

With Nicolas Lang, the leader of the Metropolitans is the other absent from the list of last November. In Lang, Collet preferred Maxime Roos. Rewarded for his good start to the season with Boulogne-Levallois, the 25-year-old winger will be able to smell the international atmosphere for the first time in his young career. Andrew Albicy, Axel Julien, Isaïa Cordinier, Axel Bouteille, Lahaou Konate, Yakuba Ouattara, Amath M’Baye, Alexandre Chassang, Mathias Lessort and Jerry Boutsiele, for their part, are renewed. Mouhammadou Jaiteh cannot say the same. Removed from the list last November after testing positive for Covid-19, the pivot of the Turkish club Gaziantep could hope to return to the group. The former Limoges player must have been disillusioned.
