According to reports Deadline, Ethan Hawke (‘Training Day’), Peter Sarsgaard (‘Shattered Glass’) and Riley Keough (‘Mad Max: Fury Road’) will accompany Jake Gyllenhaal as protagonists of the future thriller by Antoine Fuqua, ‘The Guilty’. It is a remake of the Danish film of the same title written and directed by Gustav Mller in 2018.
Other members who have joined the cast include Paul Dano (‘The Batman’), Byron Bowers (‘Concrete Cowboys’), Da’Vine Joy Randolph (‘Dolemite Is My Name’), David Castaeda (‘The Umbrella Academy’) , Christina Vidal (‘7 Days to Vegas’), Adrian Martinez (‘Stumptown’), Bill Burr (‘The King of Staten Island’), Beau Knapp (‘The Good Lord Bird’) and Edi Patterson (‘Knives Out’ ).
The story unfolds over the course of a single morning and revolves around the character to play Jake Gyllenhaal, a former police officer who has been suspended from his duties and relegated to emergency service operator. During a routine night shift like any other, he receives a strange call from a terrified woman who claims to have been kidnapped, but soon discovers that nothing is what it seems and that facing the truth will be the only way out.
Nic Pizzolatto (creator of ‘True Detective’) has written the script for this project that will feature the production of Gyllenhaal with his partner in Nine Stories Productions, Riva Marker, Fuqua through his Fuqua Films, and Scott Greenberg, Michel Litvak and Gary Michael Walters for Bold Films, with the cited Miller, Annie Marter and Lina Flint serving as executive producers.
The film is expected to begin filming this month in Los Angeles locations and under strict health and safety protocols by COVID-19. Bold Films is funding the project, with Endeavor Content in charge of its worldwide sales.
