You may not know Embracer Group, but most likely you have played one of their titles. This company is one of the largest in video games, as it owns a large number of video game studios and distributors, such as THQ Nordic, Volition, Gearbox Software, Deep Silver and Tarsier Studios, to name just a few examples. Year after year, the number of projects it has in development is growing and the number has already exceeded 150 games.

The company’s CEO, Lars Wingefors, recently shared the company’s financial report for the third quarter of its fiscal year 2021, which shows a very good performance in recent months, with growth in almost all aspects, among the which are the income from net sales (increase of 44%), earnings from videogames sales (62%) and earnings from the publishing area (21%) compared to the same period (October to December), but from the previous year .

Embracer Group has 150 games in development

Something that stood out in the report is that this growth was also reflected in the number of projects that are under development in its study network. Last year, the company revealed that it had 96 games in production. Of course, the amount is immense, but this year the account increased 56%, and the total number of projects in development is already 150.

This does not come as a surprise, since in recent months Embracer Group completed the purchase of Saber Interactive, Tarsier Studios and even Gearbox, responsible for Borderlands.

In case you missed it: Will Tarsier Studios continue to work on LITTLE NIGHTMARES games?

Similarly, the number of developers in the company almost doubled, from 2,258 to 4,325 members and the number of employees in general grew 93%, so it now has 5,730 employees in total.

The most interesting thing is that most of the projects it has underway, more than 70, will debut before the end of the next fiscal year; that is, before April 1, 2022, and they are expected to have a completion value of around $ 300 million to $ 362 million.

Embracer Group will grow even more

While the growth has been incredible, the Embracer Group believes that next year will be even better, commenting that it expects it to be the best in its history thanks to numerous launches that will occur in the second half of this year. Of course, before he believes that it will have a weak last quarter (January to March 2021), due to the absence of strong premieres.

It is important to mention that a few weeks ago, when the company THQ Nordic revealed that SpongeBob: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated was a success, they announced that they are preparing more licensing projects other than productions that need many millions of dollars to be successful.
