Australia.- A security camera captured the moment in which a father struggled with a man who was trying to take his son from him in an attempted kidnapping.

The event was recorded a year ago in a Melbourne park, in AustraliaHowever, until now the images have been released.

The video shows the moment when a man who was talking on the phone while walking his dog and taking care of his two-year-old son was attacked by a man who had just got out of a taxi and tried to kidnap the minor.

Both men struggled with the boy and the father ended up on the floor protecting his son while the attacker delivered multiple blows to the head. The camera captured the moment when a witness tried to intervene.

After a few seconds, the suspect managed to snatch the child from the father and tried to flee.

The father managed to catch up with the suspect and retrieved his son, while other witnesses tried to arrest the kidnapper.

Authorities managed to arrest the suspect, who was identified as Michael Paul Rawson, 41, who mistook the boy for his own daughter because he was high on methamphetamine and pleaded guilty to attempted kidnapping charges, resisting arrest and attacking a police officer, among other charges.
