It seemed that the coronavirus pandemic would prevent the celebration of the mythical weekend of stars in the NBA, but finally the organization of the best basketball competition in the world confirmed that the All Star 2021. It will be in Atlanta -at the State Farm Arena- on March 7, with all the restrictions to avoid contagion. Once the dispute is assured, the NBA has made official the list of the ten starting players of the All Star Game, one of the biggest sporting events of the year.

The player selection process has been the usual one. First of all, a popular vote would give 50% of the points to elect the holders of each Conference. The remaining 50% was shared by the specialized press and the players, with 25% of votes each of the parties. The mix of the votes of NBA fans, the media and the players themselves has selected the following players: in the West, the captain will be Lebron James (Los Angeles Lakers) -after getting the maximum number of votes in their Conference-, accompanied by Luka doncic (Dallas Mavericks), Kawhi leonard (Los Angeles Clippers), Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors) and Nikola Jokic (Denver Nuggets).

For its part, in the East the captain and the most voted was Kevin Durant (Brooklyn Nets), who will play alongside Kyrie irving (Brooklyn Nets), Bradley Beal (Washington Wizards), Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks) and Joel embiid (Philadelphia). Next Tuesday, the NBA will announce the fourteen All Star Game substitutes, whose voting is borne by the coaches of the competition.

The former Real Madrid player finished second in the popular vote, but in third position just behind Damian Lillard (Portland Trail Blazers) in that of the specialized press and that of the players.
