The National Action Party (PAN) filed a complaint against Hugo Lopez-Gatell, Undersecretary of Prevention and Health Promotion, for criminal negligence.
The blue and white party considers that the more than 100,000 deaths by COVID-19 in Mexico they are an example of the “mismanagement of the pandemic by the Health authorities.”
Therefore, he went to the General Prosecutor of the Republic (FGR) to file the complaint for the crimes of culpable homicide, injuries, sabotage Y illicit exercise of functions.
With its complaint, the PAN demanded a thorough investigation into the measures applied by the Federal government to contain the spread of SARS-CoV-2 and its direct relationship with discharge fatality rate and the number of dead.
National Action maintains that while the fatality rate average in the world is 2.4 percent, in Mexico it is 9.8 percent, resulting in 10 out of 100 infected people dying.
Regarding this index, the Director General of Epidemiology, Jose Luis Alomysaid this Saturday that it was reduced to 3 percent.

The PAN leader, Marko Cortes, argued that the complaint before the FGR represents an act of social responsibility, given the ominous action of the Government of not recognizing that its strategy has failed and that it is necessary to correct it immediately, to save lives and stop the spread of the pandemic.
He charged that the figure of deaths from COVID-19 It represents one of the greatest failures of the López Obrador government and the disappointment of Mexicans, because despite the daily increase in victims, it is assured that “we are doing well.”
Cortés Mendoza criticized the disqualification of the mandatory use of mask and the realization of massive tests diagnostic, as recommended from the beginning by international organizations.
National Action will continue to raise its voice in favor of Mexicans to denounce the disaster of the Federal Government in the face of the pandemic. We will demand punishment from those responsible for the failure and we sympathize with the families of the victims. It is clear that being a government is not enough, you have to know how to govern ”, he concluded.
