Coronavirus | Restrictions in Madrid: which health zones are confined, which are not, and for how long?

The Madrid’s community announced today new restrictions for the next Constitution bridge, which will take place between December 4 and 8. As is customary in recent holidays, the Madrid regional executive is committed to a perimeter closure of the community specifically in bridges, compared to the strategy of other communities that establish it on an ongoing basis.

Along with these measures, the team of Isabel Díaz Ayuso, president of the Community of Madrid, has communicated the new basic health zones in which restrictions are imposed due to a cumulative incidence above the desirable. In addition, the Deputy Minister of Public Health and the COVID-19 Plan, Antonio Zapatero, together with the general director of Public Health, Elena Andradas, have indicated that other basic health zones are ending their additional current measures.

New areas that apply measures

The epidemiological evolution in recent weeks makes the Community of Madrid impose extraordinary measures to curb infections in six new basic health areas. Currently, the accumulated incidence in the global community is 297 infections per 100,000 inhabitants. As reported by the Executive, the threshold has been lowered to 400 cases to apply these surgical movement restrictions. These They will come into effect on Monday, November 23 at 00:00 and they will have a minimum duration of 14 days, depending on their evolution.
